CABIN LODGING

Big Bear offers a myriad of choices when it comes to choosing lodging. We have resort cabins, hotels, motels, private homes and lodges.

The great old lodges were responsible for starting the tourist industry in Big Bear. The first lodge was built west of the Dam and accommodated the men working on the road through the Arctic Circle (Big Bear). Pine Knot Loge and Knights Camp followed. Once good roads reached Big Bear, the area became a four season resort.

Historically, Big Bear cabins have also been works of art. Two great examples of this were the Peter Pan Woodland Club and Stillwell’s Resort. The Woodland Club, in Big Bear City, was a world class resort. Each cabin was hand crafted from local lumber. The Club offered hunting and fishing cabins, along with amenities. Stillwell’s was located lakeside and catered to the fisherman. It was also handcrafted from local lumber.

Lots of things have changed in Big Bear, but not the mountain or the alpine forest. The smell of fresh air and blue skies still surround us. The National Forest provides great fun all year round. Hiking, off-road driving and picnicking are a great place to start. Call us for a cabin and let our local staff help you find fun in the mountains of Southern California.
