Our southern California lake is nearly eight miles long and one mile wide at its widest point. This fresh water lake has a maximum depth of 72 feet, with 23 miles of shoreline. The lake is home to incredible fishing. Bass, trout, crappie, catfish, and bluegill are all found to be abundant throughout the fishing season.

We are located in the San Bernardino National Forest just two hours from Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Orange County, at an altitude of 6,750 lakeside. Big Bear CA is a resort community with a Bavarian flair, famous for its four season beauty and home to two of California's Premier Ski Resorts, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.

Cool summer temperatures range around 78 degrees during the day and 45 degrees at nights. With nearly 300 days of sunshine, one of the six solar observatories in the world makes its home at the lake and is run by the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
